Ministry Details - P2P Five-Phase Process

Phase 1: Evaluation

A P2P staff member will:

  • Review specific church documents and reports and attend worship services to gain an idea of where the church is
  • Provide specific recommendations about how the church can be more effective and dynamic
  • Produce a full written report (sent to the pastor) containing P2P staff member findings along with suggestions for improvement

Phase 2: Vision Casting Leadership Workshop

The half-day workshop gives church leaders a vision for reproductive ministry that causes the church to grow and effectively reach people for Christ.  Leaders gain a mind-set that moves them from “program” to “process” and truly make disciples. The contents of the Vision Casting Workshop include:

  • What Makes a Growing Church?
  • Understanding The Life Cycle of a Church
  • The Reason and Power of Purpose and Mission
  • Moving from Program to Process
  • Creating a Climate for Growth
  • Preventing the Deadly Diseases of a Church

Phase 3: Process Training

P2P provides training and/or counsel and suggested materials for each aspect of the church’s process of ministry.  P2P gives hands-on assistance to church members/staff selected by the pastor to oversee each of the following areas of ministry: Ushers, Greeters, Newcomer Follow-up and Assimilation, Sunday School, Discipleship, Small Groups, Evangelism/Community Outreach, Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry and Evangelism Outreach.

Phase 4: Strategy Development

P2P helps the pastor make the church’s strategy more visible by building a “strategy board” that is used to keep plan and vision, as well as the assimilation process, before each leader.  P2P works with the pastor and his staff to develop each aspect of the board, including strategy for the “climate for growth.”  The pastor then trains and develops ongoing strategy with his leadership.

Phase 5: Strategy Outreach

The P2P staff member meets with the pastor and/or evangelism director (or team) and helps plan intentional outreach in the community.  P2P provides ideas that have been effective in other churches.  The goal is to develop a planned calendar of community outreach for one to two years.

P2P is always available and is just a phone call away to serve as an outside consultant and resource, as well as a friend.  The P2P staff member will make a number of personal visits and calls to offer assistance.
